Glass Blank 6" x 1"

I use my pocket knives for whittling and shaving wood several hours every week. I find that periodic passes with a series of progressively finer lapping tapes, maintains knife edges at razor sharpness, with minimal fuss and metal removal. In my experience, edges are sharper after using the tapes than after using stones. My standard progression for “heavy” touch-ups is 15 micron 3M Diamond tape followed by Edge Pro 2000 tape. For light touch-ups I skip the 15 Micron tape. Each tape normally lasts me dozens of touch-ups …. So they are reasonably cost effective. In pursuit of even sharper edges I am evaluating ranges of coarser and finer lapping tapes, and even lapping pastes applied to masking tape strops. For all of these activities, I use the Gritomatic Glass Blanks. They are robust and perfectly flat. Exactly what is required.

Works Great on The New Worksharp I bought an adapter from Etsy that allows me to use these plates on the new Worksharp Professional. Talk about getting a mirror finish on my knives and it does not take all that long. What is nice that I can use these with other systems if I chose to get a better unit in the future.
